statement of intent

Statement of Intent My TV adverts for a new horror TV channel called "Detached" will aim to create a brand identity that makes the audience intrigued as the TV adverts will create a sense of mystery as adverts are supposed have a creepy element to it, showing an object that doesn't make sense with that person/situation. As well as this the name encourages the audience to become immersed in the films shown on the channel. My adverts will include three different locations and people, and the fourth advert will be a montage of the previous three advents. In my first advent, it will show a baby playing with toys and at the end reveal a child's drawing of people (inferred family) with a dark large figure next to them. In the next advent, it will be woman walking down a dark alley pushing a pushchair, at the end it will show that there is no baby in the pushchair which will make the audience question what is happening and the added music in post-production will create a sen...

advertising standards

initial ideas proposal

Name of channel: detached  Genre: horror Overview of the idea for the TV channel advertising campaign: All adverts show an object that doesn't make sense with that person/situation, making it seem very usual and creepy. The first 3 represent that the new channel is about horror but all say "coming soon..." and the name and time the channel starts is revealed on the last advert. 1. baby - child playing with toys but  2. woman - pushing a pushchair but reveals there is no baby 3. child - playing on a swing but is holding a hammer 4. montage - all 3 edited together and more information about the channel. How will this fit the requirements of the brief?: It will be able to fit the target audience (16-25 years) while still being suitable to be broadcast to a daytime audience. How will you use media language in these 4 adverts?: I will use horror stereotypes to enforce the idea of a horror channel being advertised. What do you feel you need more practise of in achieving your id...

class reality tv drama

Image
Class reality TV drama With my edit I decided to focus on the different stereotypes of the students (and teacher) and their relationships and how they contrast each other. I tried to highlight that all, except one, student are not bothered about school and that the teacher doesn't enforce the correct way to behave on them. I wanted my overall impression to be the idea of a different characters in a disorganised setting and I did this by developing a character of a bad teacher who has barely any control over the class. The post-production elements I added were the title of the student speaking in the talking head part of the class reality TV drama, this had the impact of the audience having a proper understanding of who the characters are and who they are talking about. The part of my edit I think works the best is at the end when I change the speed of the clips to make it seem like Sinead is moving really fast.

continuity

Continuity:   -  Continuity editing is essentially magic trick. -  Pacing and trajectory of the story.   -  Try to keep the left-to-right relationship  (framing). Left-to-right = goi ng somewhere and right-to-left = coming back.      Match on action   -  film  editing and video editing techniques where the editor cuts from one shot to another  view that matches the first shot’s action. Although the two shots may have actually been shot hours apart from each other, cutting on action gives the impression of continuous time when watching the edited film. It is a form of continuity editing. 180 degree angle -  basic guideline that states that two characters in the same scene should always have the same left/right relationship to each other. If the camera passes over the imaginary axis connecting the two subjects, it is called crossing the line. The new shot, from the opposite side, is known as a reverse angle. Stages of ...
